  1. 从拍卖,竞拍的角度来讲,bid过去式与过去分词都是bid,但是从其他的角度来讲,过去式一般是bade,过去分词是bidden;
  2. Bid one go 现在已经不用于演讲时让某人走,但是文学上有时还会使用;

I bade all of them seated.正:I bade all of them be seated.

  6. 在日常英语里,一般说tell〔order〕 sb to do sth,而少说bid sb (to) do sth。

I said them good evening.正:I said good evening to them.

bid, effort(s), endeavour(s), exertion(s), pain(s)
I will make a great effort to master English
The cabinet is making all possible endeavours to bring about national economic stabilization.
I was quite hot and tired after all my exertions.
Our Department is making a bid for the interdepartmental basketball championship.
For thirty years,Teacher Liu has been taking great pains in educating us.30年来,刘教员一直劳心努力地教育我们。
v.(动词)
bid, command, order, tell
order bid command

  • 错句:someone bade ten thousand dollars for this painting.

纠正:someone bid ten thousand dollars for this painting.
