【词源解说】
直接源自古英语的nig，意为任何，任一；最初源自原始日耳曼语的aniagas。
【词语用法】
- any是一个限定词，常用于表示模糊的，不确定的数量或数字，适合用于不强调how many/much的表达时，常以问句或否定句的形式出现；
- any属于复合词，常与其他单词搭配成一个词，如anybody, anything, anyhow, anywhere等，有时候要把any和其搭配的词分开来写，如any way，不习惯用anyway来表达；
- any，not any，和no的比较：any本身没有否定的意思，只有在和not连用时，才表示否定。
- She's unhappy because she hasn't got any friends.
- She's got no friends.
- 注意否定句中，any和every的意思，有时意思不同。
- I do not know any (one) of them.
我对他们一个也不认识。
- I do not know every one of them.
我对他们不是个个都认识。

两个意思，一个指“我对他们一个都不想认识”，一个指“我对他们不是任何一个都想认识”，后面的第二个意思同every的意思相同。

- 否定词后接any时指完全否定，因此如果只要表达部分否定，不用any，用some。
