I don't expect so的形式,也可采取I expect not的形式,后者为非正式的语体。
He expects to take a vacation in May.
We expect him this afternoon.我们料他今天下午能来(to come可以省去,而this afternoon这个时间状语是修饰to come的,不是修饰expect的)。
He expected to be taken care of.
  14. be expecting sb/sth Tom was expecting an important letter from France.

expect, anticipate, look for, look forward to
I expect to see some fine films during the holidays.
We anticipate that we shall hear from you again.
I think we may look for a better result next time.
I'm looking forward to your visit.
expect, wait for
He is expecting a letter.
“Why are you standing here?” “I am waiting for Mr. Green.”“你站在这儿干什么?”“我在等格林先生。”
expect, await
She had reason to expect that the trip would be exciting.
We await your reply with interest.
expect, hope
  • I expect John to come to the meeting.
  • I expect John will come to the meeting.
  • What can you expect from him?
  • What can you expect of him?
  • I expect him to come.
desire wish hope expect want long
