The COC1 expressed the mRNAs of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2) and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 (PAI-1), but not those of MMP-9, TIMP-1 or urokinase-type plasminogen activator (u-PA).
