In the 32th year among Guangxu period of Qing dynasty (year 1906), the wood ponton, ever named Dongfu Bridge, was rebuilded into iron bridge and that means robustness like golden wall.

• 清光绪三十二年（1906年），将木船浮桥改建为铁桥，寓意固若金汤。金汤桥位于海河上游市区中心，原址为一座浮桥，名为“东浮桥”。
