Abstract: A myriad of historical maritime customs publications is the most integrated, and systematic economic statistics and documents during the late imperial China and the Republic.

• 近代中国海关的基本职能是监管进出口贸易、收关税、缉走私、制进出口统计，同时兼办沿海及内河航务、务、政、疫、象、外债和对外赔款的海关担保与清偿支付，代征厘金、关税等附加税捐，甚至筹办国际博览会、育(文馆、务专门学校)及中国政府特派的外交事务等等。
