L-Phenylalanine-N-carboxyanhydride (L-Phe-NCA) was synthesized from bis(trichloromethyl)- carbonate and L-phenylalanine. Octadecyl-L-phenylalanine oligomer was obtained by the ring-opening reaction of L-Phe-NCA using octadecylamine as initiator.
