From the sociocultural point of view, the aim of this study is to decipher the thinking of advanced head and neck cancer patients, and to work out better ways to prevent the disease in the future.

• 本研究的目的，首先要厘清头颈部癌症在东台湾的严重性，并由分析病人的疾病行为，希提出较合实际的卫教及防治方法。
