Ethyl vanillin was synthesized by the phase-transfer catalysis CTEAB and O-ethoxyphenol, which was prepared from pyroeatehol with an overall yield of 55.2%, and the factors in the reaction, such as phase-transfer catalysis and temperature, were discussed.
