Besides its continuous refurbishment of the main courts and halls, the museum has opened galleries to display bronzes, porcelain, crafts, paintings and calligraphy, jewellery and clocks to expand the scope of its exhibitions.

• 为了使院藏瑰宝和广大观众见面，在陈列展览方面，除了保存和复原三大殿、后三宫和西六宫等处的原状陈列之外，又不定期开辟了青铜、陶瓷、工艺、书画、珍宝、钟表等专馆，供参观者欣赏。
