A new water-soluble porphyrin 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-methoxyl-3-sulfophenyl)porphine[T(4-MOP)PS_4]has been synthesized. A simple methodis suggested to remove large amount of sulfateradicals from the sulfonated product by a gel-type anion exchange column.
