2-Methyl-6-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)benzo-1,4-quinone was conveniently synthesized from 2-methyl-6-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)phenol which was prepared from o-cresol with 1-chloro-2-methyl-2-butene . The method is very simple and easy to be performed.
